This morning Cousin John picked me up and took me to the sparkling building where he lives with his wife Milana and new baby Vivienne.<\/p>\n

Vilnius was exactly what I wanted it to be.\u00a0 I\u2019ve long wanted to visit the Baltics, and so far they haven\u2019t let me down.\u00a0 Vilnius is a city of 600, 000, and the old town simply sparkles in the clear Baltic sun.\u00a0 It was chilly but not cold.<\/p>\n

The city is absolutely crawling with beautiful old churches, mostly Catholic (Milana says that Lithuanians are even more religious than Poles).\u00a0 But there are also the inevitable Russian Orthodox structures as well.<\/p>\n

The main Cathedral has the coolest bell tower I think I have ever seen.\u00a0 It looks like what would happen if a tradtional\u00a0 bell tower and a lighthouse had a baby.\u00a0 It\u2019s just not like any campanile I\u2019ve seen before.\u00a0 Tragically, I didn\u2019 tmanage to get a picture of it, so I\u2019m going to cheat and grab one off the interwebs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I've always had this weird love for "proletariat" art.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We took a lovely walk around town on Saturday afternoon.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Saturday evening we parked little Viv with John and Milana and I went off to the ballet.\u00a0 It was a performance by the Baltic Ballet Group and the piece was called Depeche Mode: Another World<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 We loved it.<\/p>\n

The town turned out with a huge parade welcoming my visit.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
