<\/a>Well, it took nearly 10 years, but we finally go the son-of-a-bitch.\u00a0 I just wish I felt better about it .<\/p>\n
Why couldn\u2019t we have apprehended him?\u00a0 Why did we have to pounce, commando-style, guns blazing?\u00a0 Wouldn\u2019t it have been better for us, better for the world, to put him on public trial?\u00a0 Incarcerate him?\u00a0 Did the administration think it would make the USA look weak if we didn\u2019t murder him?\u00a0 I don\u2019t really get it.<\/p>\n I also feel a tiny bit guilty for taking a bit of partisan pleasure in the fact that this victory happened on Obama\u2019s watch.\u00a0 Good for him.\u00a0 Along with the exasperated release of his birth certificate last week, it seems to be a pretty good month for the President.<\/p>\n \/\/\/<\/p>\n I made a pretty costly mistake regarding the inter-Europe flights.\u00a0 The weight allowance for baggage is sharply less than it is for intercontinental flights, and I got slapped with pretty vicious fees on the Brussels to Vilnius and the Vilnius to Berlin flights.\u00a0 I got pretty steamed, but it\u2019s really my fault for not doing better research.\u00a0 If I\u2019d known it would be so expensive, I would have found a way to ship one of my large bags by train or something from Brussels to Berlin.\u00a0 I\u2019ll be more careful next time.\u00a0<\/p>\n \/\/\/<\/p>\n As queasy as it made me to fly on the very day Osama\u2019s death announced, my two short flights were easy and boring, as you want all flights to be.<\/p>\n I got to Berlin and my hotel just fine, but quickly realize I\u2019d made a mistake thinking the hotel was in a \u201ccool\u201d part of the city.\u00a0 It\u2019s called Courtyard City Center, so it was an honest mistake, I think.\u00a0 I mean, doesn\u2019t that sound good?\u00a0 But it turns out the \u201ccity center\u201d \u2013 called Mitte<\/em> \u2013 is a boring, strictly business-only district with few amenities and very little charm.\u00a0 The hotel is very definitely a business, not tourist, hotel.\u00a0<\/p>\n But that\u2019s okay.\u00a0 I made my way to the subway and after a little struggle figured out how to purchase a week pass.\u00a0 Public transportation is fantastic in Berlin, and with this pass I can easily hop around the city to get to the good parts.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n![\"This](\"http:\/\/rayivey.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/angel_1-199x300.jpg\" "\\"angel_1\\"")
