width:48px;height:48px; margin: 0; padding: 0; border: none; box-shadow: none;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rayivey.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/plugins\/social-media-feather\/synved-social\/image\/social\/regular\/96x96\/instagram.png\" \/><\/a><p> Once again,  the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has soldiered forward and made their feeble nominations.\u00a0 It&#8217;s such a lot of wasted effort when all they needed to to was ask me which movies were naughty and which were nice.\u00a0 Alas.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>The Good<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least they managed to include Letters from Iwo Jima and Little Miss Sunshine in the Best Picture category.<\/li>\n<li>The Oscar Best Actress list matches mine,  five for five!<\/li>\n<li>They didn&#8217;t forget Ryan Gosling in the Best Actor category!\u00a0 Thank goodness.<\/li>\n<li>They did pretty well on Best Supporting Actor,  especially with the inclusions of Jackie Earle Haley and Alan Arkin.<\/li>\n<li>Finally,  a big nice surprise:\u00a0 To see Paul Greengrass&#8217;s name included in the Best Director category!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <strong>The Bad<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As I feared,  way too many nominations for the boring Babel.\u00a0 (One would have been too many.)\u00a0 This craptastic Crash rip-off got SEVEN nominations,  each more appalling than the last.<\/li>\n<li>Nothing at all for Akeelah and the Bee,  Sweet Land,  or Brick.\u00a0 Shame,  shame,  shame on you,  old fogey Academy voters!!!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> \u00a0<strong>The Ugly<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only three measely nominations for the best picture of the year,  Children of Men (Adapted Screenplay,  Cinematography,  Editing).\u00a0 I guess I should be happy it&#8217;s represented at all.<\/li>\n<li>Volver not being up for Best Foreign Film?\u00a0 Exsqueeze me?!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> As with every year,  I have to try to take joy in the nominations they got right and ignore the ones they got wrong.\u00a0 Nurse,  please turn up the morphine drip.<\/p>\n<p><div itemprop=\"aggregateRating\" itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/AggregateRating\">Average Rating: <span itemprop=\"ratingValue\">4.5<\/span> out of <span itemprop=\"bestRating\">5<\/span> based on <span itemprop=\"reviewCount\">233<\/span> user reviews.<\/span><\/div><\/p><p>\n<script type=\"application\/ld+json\">\n{\n  \"@context\": \"http:\/\/schema.org\/\",\n  \"@type\": \"Review\",\n\"datePublished\":\"April 30, 2026\",\n  \"itemReviewed\": {\n    \"@type\": \"Product\",\n    \"name\": \"Male Enhancement Pills\"\n  },\n  \"reviewRating\": {\n    \"@type\": \"Rating\",\n    \"ratingValue\": \"4.5\"\n  },\n\n  \"author\": {\n    \"@type\": \"Organization\",\n    \"name\": \"LegitScript\"\n  },\n  \"reviewBody\": \"Excellent quality at low price.
