Distance traveled today:\u00a0 280<\/p>\n<p> Total distance traveled:\u00a0 2315<\/p>\n<p> Great day trip today to see my friend Randy in Pittsburgh.\u00a0 For eleven years,  I have written about computer games on Randy\u2019s website,  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.justadventure.com\/\">www.justadventure.com<\/a>.\u00a0 Randy is a passionate enthusiast of games in general,  but most particuarly of that most maligned genre,  the adventure game.<\/p>\n<p> After having a brief heyday in the late 80s and early 90s (until <strong><em>The Sims <\/em><\/strong>came along,  <strong><em>Myst<\/em><\/strong> was the biggest-selling PC game),  adventure games have been in a long,  slow,  sad decline.\u00a0 But at least partially thanks to Randy,  the genre is still hanging these years I\u2019ve met many interesting people in the gaming industry through Randy.\u00a0 My involvement with JustAdventure also led to a couple of actual paying gigs in the industry.\u00a0 I was the puzzle design consultant for the second and third <strong><em>Law and Order<\/em><\/strong> pc games.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_646\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-646\" when he\u2019d come to Los Angeles to attend the Electronic Entertianment Expo with me.\u00a0 But for the last several years,  Randy\u2019s been fighting life-threatening d so he hasn\u2019t traveled as much.\u00a0 It\u2019s been ages since I\u2019ve seen him,  so I\u2019m awfully glad I had this opportunity.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_644\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-644\" a tour of the city,  they cooked me a fabulous Polish dinner before I hit the road back to Cleveland.<a rel=\"attachment wp-att-701\" href=\"http:\/\/rayivey.com\/wordpress\/?attachment_id=701\"><img
