On Day 7 I was pretty mean to poor Cleveland.\u00a0 Today I\u2019ll be a little bit nicer.<\/p>\n

Of course there are many terrific things about Cleveland.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cleveland has one of the better local newspapers in the country, the Plain Dealer<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 The paper\u2019s current headquarters is one of my favorite new-ish buildings in the country, at 1801 Superior Avenue East.\u00a0 [PHOTO]\u00a0 It has lots of other appealing architecture as well.<\/p>\n

It also has a fantastic film festival, which was not only happening while I was in town, it happened five blocks from my hotel!\u00a0 It\u2019s the 35th<\/sup> year of the festival, and they screened movies from all over the world.\u00a0 I was able to see four of them:\u00a0 Undertow<\/em><\/strong>, Insidious<\/em><\/strong>, Rubber<\/em><\/strong>, and Connected<\/em><\/strong> (hey, all one-word titles \u2026 it\u2019s a theme!).<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll say this about the 35th<\/sup> Annual Cleveland International Film Festival:\u00a0 It was the best run such event I have ever attended.\u00a0 I\u2019m used to film festivals being run by a bunch of arrogant know-nothing volunteers with screenings that are oversold and wildly off schedule.\u00a0 They run a very tight ship at the CIFF.\u00a0 I hope I get to attend it in the future.<\/p>\n

\"CIFF\"<\/a>Of course, Cleveland is heaven<\/em> if you\u2019re a sport fan.\u00a0 Like baseball?\u00a0 You can see the Indians at Progressive Field and cheer on the way cute porno-named Grady Sizemore.\u00a0 How about basketball?\u00a0 There\u2019s the Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena.\u00a0 Football?\u00a0 The Browns at Browns stadium.\u00a0 Not to mention arena football heroes the Cleveland Gladiators, also at Quicken Loans.\u00a0 The busy QL Arena is also home to Cleveland\u2019s hockey team, the Lake Erie Monsters.\u00a0 That\u2019s not even mentioning the pile of local college teams.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cleveland is, of course, also home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.\u00a0 It\u2019s situated in downtown right on Lake Erie.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re more the artsy type (you know the type of person I mean), you won\u2019t want to miss Playhouse Square, the largest performing arts center outside of New York.\u00a0 It has seven<\/em> theaters and over 1000 events per year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Of course Cleveland also has the majestic Lake Erie!<\/p>\n

Not to mention it\u2019s the home of my very favorite client.<\/p>\n
